PARALEGAL, Office of the General Counsel (OGC)-Office of Risk Management and Compliance Services (RMCS), to provide legal, administrative, and project-management support to several OGC attorneys, the Institute risk officer, and several RMCS managers.  Will support both offices and develop and maintain excellent relationships and deal effectively with staff and leadership at all levels of MIT, clients, the public, outside law firms, vendors, and other contacts. Responsibilities include drafting and revising nondisclosure agreements, facilities use agreements, and data use agreements; managing and supervising contract management for non-sponsored research consortia; overseeing personal data collection database; analyzing contracts and agreements for compliance with MIT policies; performing legal research; preparing legal filings, including bankruptcy and class action; extensive calendar management; preparing presentations and reports; conducting general research and peer institution benchmarking; managing multiple websites and email distributions; drafting documents and correspondence; organizing/managing records; coordinating on- and off-site meetings and events; coordinating travel arrangements and preparing expense reports/reimbursements; purchasing supplies/materials; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ law firm or in-house legal office experience; understanding of courts and administrative agencies; tact and good judgment with confidential/sensitive information/relationships; writing, editing, and proofreading proficiency; and proficiency with Adobe, MS Office, PACER, and Westlaw.  Must be able to work collaboratively; anticipate and meet strict deadlines; complete projects independently; organize, prioritize, and carry out work with minimal supervision; and manage a high volume of work with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.

PREFERRED:  paralegal certificate and experience with iManage database, DropBox, and website management tools.
