Job Description Summary
The Senior Director of the Deputy Dean’s Office partners with the Deputy Dean in the overall management of the academic divisions of the school and of faculty affairs.
Job Description
The Senior Director oversees operations of the office, manages priorities, supervises staff, writes communications, and independently handles projects. The Senior Director represents the Deputy Dean in his duties with the faculty and senior administrators, including those in the central university, and external constituents including donors. This position requires sensitivity about confidential matters, excellent communication and analytical skills, and a high level of knowledge about academic administration and faculty affairs. The position works closely with the Dean’s Chief of Staff in the administrative overlap between the Dean and the Deputy Dean.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and 7-10 years of experience, with experience in an academic setting required, or equivalent combination of education and extensive academic experience
- Experience managing complex issues and problem solving
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Supervisory experience
- Experience managing budgets is preferred
