Job Description Summary
The Penn Memory Center (PMC) is seeking a full time Clinical Research Coordinator A to join our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals.
This Clinical Research Coordinator A’s (CRC A) primary responsibility will be coordination of a longitudinal study focused on inclusion of cognitively healthy African American older adults from the West Philadelphia region, the Aging Brain Cohort Dedicated to Diversity Study (ABCD2). This work includes close collaboration with the recruitment and retention coordinator for the ABCD2 study. PMC studies enroll persons with a range of cognitive health, from those with intact cognition to those with cognitive impairment caused by Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Job Description
The principal role of the CRC A will be to provide general research and administrative support for the Aging Brain Cohort Dedicated to Diversity Study (ABCD2). Duties will include screening and enrolling study participants, completing the informed consent process, administering study questionnaires and neuropsychological tests, maintaining telephone follow-up with study participants, coordinating and scheduling imaging visits, escorting participants to imaging centers, data entry/cleaning, as well as assisting with preparation and submission of regulatory documents to the Penn and PA State Institutional Review Boards.
This position works closely with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators, ABCD2 outreach and recruitment coordinator, research manager, and study team to successfully carry out the aims of the ABCD2 study, identify problems and develop solutions, implement approved changes to procedures, and monitor results. The clinical research coordinator will support the study team in new study start up activities and will train and maintain certification to administer study assessments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
The candidate must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience and/or interest in working with African American study participants preferred. Familiarity with IRB guidelines, human subject research practices, and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols is a plus. The CRC A will be expected to perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
