University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and Kibble are offering an exciting opportunity to a post graduate in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or with a relevant degree involving a significant amount of software development to support Kibble.  You will assist in the development of Kibble’s revolutionary behaviour analysis software.

This involves inventing novel methods for media search and retrieval, data mining and data analysis using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

You will work as part of the team to enhance the software to be used in the distributed environments. Since we are pioneers in the field, you will help us discover and apply innovative approaches to our existing technology. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team, collaborating with colleagues and sharing expertise.  You will be able to demonstrate a proven interest in machine learning and image/video processing along with a sound knowledge of the C/C++/Python programming language.  Familiarity with remote health monitoring and/or behaviour analysis is desirable

Kibble is a specialist child and youth care charity and social enterprise and empowers young people through care, education and support.  Kibble services include the education and care of young people (aged 5-25yrs) with a range of social, emotional, behavioural and educational issues. Given the strategic important of the project, Kibble’s management have indicated their intention to retain the associate post-KTP subject to performance.

The successful candidate will be subject to PVG Scheme Membership. Having previous convictions will not automatically disbar you from working in this role (with the exception of offences against children or other vulnerable groups) and every case is taken on an individual basis.
