Elevate is a policy lab within the Yale Child Study Center, which is focused on addressing maternal mental health as a strategy for disrupting intergenerational poverty and creating opportunities for social and economic mobility. Elevate is comprised of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of researchers and practitioners. A current area of focus is scaling the MOMS Partnership®, a multi-component, intervention-based program delivered to mothers. This program is currently being implemented in a series of replication studies, both in and outside of Connecticut.
This position will have a lead role in managing research, which involves implementation of MOMS Partnership® and other interventions aimed at improving maternal and child outcomes. The position will interface with principal investigators, all members of the study team, and research partners—such as recruitment sites. The position will directly oversee activities of research assistants and other members of the research team. The position will guide the progress of the study—including setting and monitoring weekly goals for the team, developing operational procedures, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance to all policies/procedures/protocols. The position will work closely with the broader Elevate research team to develop/improve strategies to effectively implement scaling studies, including through use of online/telehealth platforms. The position will also play a secondary clinical role in the research, including intervention delivery to participants, on a planned or as-needed basis.
- Coordinates and carries out the overall research process and provides critical operational support to the program.
- Performs independent research, participates in research planning and investigates, analyzes, and reaches preliminary scientific conclusions.
- Collaborates with the Principle Investigator in the design, testing, implementation and evaluation of survey instruments as necessary.
- Recommends the design and implementation of procedures and protocols under the direction of the Principal Investigator(s).
- Prepares research protocols and materials; schedules project meetings and monitors the project timeline adjusting as necessary.
- Manages all project/research data collection, files, and sharing.
- Develops educational materials, forms, questionnaires and writes procedure manuals for program.
- Performs literature reviews and contributes to manuscript writing and publishes articles for peer-reviewed journals; presents research progress and findings.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Well-developed skills to manage intervention research activity with professional judgment, independence and accountability.
Required Skill/Ability 2:
Interpersonal and clinical skills for working with parents/adults in the context of research and/or clinical care.
Required Skill/Ability 3:
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing heavy volume of research activity, tight deadlines, and/or simultaneous project needs.
Required Skill/Ability 4:
Ability to work with a dynamic research team.
Required Skill/Ability 5:
Ability to manage the work of research support staff, such as research assistants, postgraduate associates, or fellows.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. One or more years of experience in delivering mental health treatment or parenting interventions.
