We are seeking a talented and creative individual to conduct high quality research on process development, modeling, simulation, and optimization. We have a project on carbon utilization to methanol. The candidates will develop state-of-the-art solutions involving processes, supply chains, and simulation models. The candidates are expected to have sound understanding of chemical processes and be proficient in steady state process simulation and technoeconomic analyses and evaluations.

Suitably qualified applicants may send their applications along with a full resume (CV), publication list, and details of two academic referees.

Only short-listed candidates will be notified. Applications will be considered, until the positions are filled.

Qualifications

Requirements:

The positions require four minimum qualifications:

  1. PhD in Chemical Engineering,
  2. Strong programming skills,
  3. Strong mathematical, analytical, and modelling skills,
  4. Strong knowledge of process simulation software with experience
  5. At least two or more years of academic research experience with publications in process systems modelling, simulation, optimization.

Familiarity with the chemical industry and operations is must, and aptitude for, commitment to, and ability to do applied/academic research is mandatory.

The candidate must be able to work in an academic research environment, where both individual and team contributions are essential, and performance is measured in terms of novel and creative ideas, top-quality journal papers, and prestigious conference presentations.

Candidates should have interest and experience in research on systems modelling, chemical process simulation, process optimization, supply chain design, and relevant areas. Knowledge and experience in posing and solving novel and challenging chemical process or supply chain problems are highly desirable.

This is a time-bound project and achieving milestones in time is absolutely essential.

The candidate should have the desire to grow into new technical areas and learn new skills.
