Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science
Food Shield will map the food supply chain and determine the critical pinch points wherein crisis such as COVID-19 have potentially impacted quality and safety of these crop derivatives and it will determine the digital and technological interventions needed to ensure safety, sustainability and reliability of food supply, from farm to fork, in times of crisis.
This position will be responsible for selecting appropriate farm and food model systems, collecting the relevant scientific, economic and policy data from the selected model systems and establishing a database. The position will also carry out mapping, tracing and validation of the database. The position will oversee the successful running and completion of the project, and will involve regular interaction and communication with the collaborators and researchers in the project.
This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
Salary range: €38,631 - €44,658 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
