The successful candidate will work with Prof Gan Wee Teck on investigating the application of triality to obtain new cases of Langlands functoriality under a project on Triality and Functoriality.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Examining the basis of twisted endoscopy theory in the context of the triality automorphism of Spin(8) and in particular to determine the twisted endoscopic subgroups.
- Applying the twisted stable trace formula for Spin(8) to obtain new cases of Langlands functoriality.
- Studying G_2-periods of representations and automorphic forms of Spin(8) via a theta lifting from SL(2)xSL(2)xSL(2).
PhD training in automorphic forms and the Langlands program.
Skills: Ability to work with representations and automorphic forms of reductive groups, theta liftings and trace formula.
Experience: Experience with the Langlands program.
