Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering (Ref.: 502765), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering and Science, Environmental Management, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Sciences or other relevant fields. Previous experiences in life cycle assessment (LCA), data management and analysis with LCA software such as SimaPro or Gabi, and/or quantitative microbial risk assessment are highly desirable. Knowledge in environmental informatics, big data, machine/deep learning will be an advantage. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team are also required.
The appointee will develop a new framework for assessing life-cycle environmental, economic and public health impacts of wastewater reuse schemes at city, district and building scales. He/She will also conduct the techno-economic and value chain analysis of innovative wastewater treatment technologies and assist in the development of sustainability indicator for green technologies.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
