Role Description

As the UK’s only exclusively postgraduate university, Cranfield’s world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships is creating leaders in technology and management globally.  Our distinctive expertise is in our deep understanding of technology and management and how these work together to benefit the world.

Our people are our most valuable resource and everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of our university, developing our learners, and transforming the businesses we work with. Learn more about Cranfield and our unique impact here. Our shared, stated values help to define who we are and underpin everything we do: Ambition; Impact; Respect; and Community. The International Partnerships and Student Recruitment Department works with and supports the wider University to drive student recruitment by:

  • Providing a first class Admissions Service
  • Creating and supporting International Partnerships
  • Supporting the Schools with marketing activities

This is an exciting opportunity to join the embedded Admissions service located in Cranfield’s School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, where you will be a vital part of the student recruitment effort. You will be the first point of contact for all course enquiries and applications, ensuring they are appropriately handled and fulfilled. This includes the review and assessment of applications against university entry criteria and working with academic tutors to reach admission decisions. You will also ensure that accurate offers are produced and communicated to prospective students.

A key part of the role is taking a personal and hands-on approach with each prospective student ensuring that they receive a first class admission experience. The role also supports wider recruitment activities such as student ambassador telephone campaigns as well as sending out communications to prospective students to keep them updated about the university. You will support the wider work of the university at major events such as Open Days, Registration and Graduation.

This is a busy and varied role requiring a keen attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately. There will be frequent contact with admission tutors, prospective students and sponsors, so you will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Much of the work is computer based, so IT literacy, experience of using databases and the web are essential.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and whether a position can be carried out at any of our locations.  We commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
