Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD Centre for Experimental Pathogen Host Research, UCD School of Medicine

The Post-doctoral researcher will join Dr Virginie Gautier's research group established in the UCD-Centre for Experimental Pathogen Host Research (CEPHR) directed by Prof. Patrick Mallon in the UCD School of Medicine. Dr Gautier is an Associate Professor in Virology and leads a research programme focusing on the Host-Virus interface, HIV molecular pathogenesis, HIV Cure. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Gautier and her team promptly shifted their research focus and developed a dedicated interdisciplinary COVID-19 programme with critical research actions including SARS-CoV-2 molecular diagnostics, antiviral drug screening, NAbs characterisation, and PPE/surface validation.

This 14-month position is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) as part of the Government of Ireland COVID-19 Rapid response scheme, with a starting date of 1st December 2020. The successful post-doctoral researcher will take part in our SARS-CoV-2 antiviral drug screening programme aiming at accelerating COVID-19 antiviral treatments with novel strategies specifically targeting the Virus-Host interface.

PD1 salary: €38,631 - €44,658 per annum
or
PD2 salary: €45,942 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
