SJ-NTU Corporate Lab invites applications for the position of Research Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the deployment of pilot plant
- Liaise with funding agencies, authorities and government agencies
- Liaise internally within NTU will the deputed teams for obtaining permission, and the approval
- Liaise with government agencies to get approval and identify any roadblock, identify solutions and coordinate activities
- Ensure that project runs according to the plan
- Liaise with the team in Surbana Jurong and coordinate activites across the NTU and SJ team
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degreee in chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields
- Demonstrate innovation in the design, construction and operation of cryogenic storage and associated systems
- Familiarity with LNG Codes, NFPA 59A, 49 CFR 193 (preferred)
- Knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192 and 193 is advantageous
- Knowledge of ASME/ANSI B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 and B31.8S codes and relevant API regulations is preferred
- Knowledge of LNG related technology, capability development and implementation of new technology
- Experience in planning and designing of natural gas systems for distribution and transmission, and power plant generation is advantageous
- Ability to team effectively with other internal group members, customer agency, and external researchers
- Sufficient knowledge on LNG and CNG properties and behavior in real processes
- Cryogenic experience: 5 years in design, of refrigerators operating at a temperature of 4 Kelvin or below; Operational experience will be advantageous
- Proven track record of working with systems investigating fundamental physical phenomena particularly as applied to LNG and CNG systems including but not limited to: two-phase fluid flow applications, thermofluids, quantum fluids, physics of Natural Gas / LNG, cryogenic semiconducting or superconducting electronics and devices, unconventional superconductivity, novel storage and instrumentations
- Demonstrated experience with engineering and designing hardware using standard engineering tool (Aspen, CREO, SolidWorks, MATLAB and/or Simulink), and advanced engineering tools like ABAQUS)
- Demonstrated experience with thermal modeling of cryogenic systems using advanced multi-physics engineering software (combined engineering analysis with Computational Flow Dynamics, Heat Transfer, and Cryo Analysis) would be advantageous
- A few years in research (R&D) and engineering experience in LNG related technology are required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as have a good network on contacts in the LNG industry
- Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solver
- Decisive, highly motivated and enthusiastic
