Lecturer in Catalan
During the Winter Quarter (January- March) and Spring Quarter (April-June) of the 2020-21 academic year, the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures may have part-time teaching opportunities in various courses in the Catalan program.
Responsibilities will include preparing and teaching seminar-style courses using a highly interactive communicative approach, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials.
Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. Language courses are conducted in Catalan, but culture courses may be taught in Catalan or English. In 2020-21, the per-course salary is $7,000. This position is not benefits eligible.
Minimum qualifications are a master’s degree or equivalent in Catalan Studies or a related field, advanced mid proficiency in Catalan according to ACTFL guidelines, and at least one year of experience teaching at the college or post-secondary level.
