REGISTRARIAL ASSISTANTRegistrar’s Office, to perform highly complex and diverse administrative functions within the schedules team.  Will interpret and enforce faculty rules and MIT policy in the administration of assignments for over 160 classrooms relating to the class schedule, ad hoc classroom requests, final examinations, conflict examinations and commencement activities; acquire deep knowledge of classroom facilities, the scheduling system, and faculty policy and procedures for registered events; and perform other administrative duties as necessary to support a complex office. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ related experience, preferably in an academic setting; ability to accurately perform a large volume of complex, varied work and make decisions independently; flexibility; ability to work effectively on a team with multiple constituencies; ability to respond to unpredictable situations; strong problem-solving and communication skills and ability to negotiate using tact and diplomacy and to speak with authority to faculty, staff, and students regarding enforcement of relevant Institute policies; discretion and judgment with confidential information; ability to learn and understand complex processes and the technology that supports those processes and willingness to learn new computer technology.  

PREFERRED:  a bachelor’s degree, proficiency with MS Office programs, familiarity with database managers such as Access and FileMaker. Job #19115-5

Salary range:  $52-58,000
