PROJECT COORDINATOR, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE), to ensure the operational efficiency of assigned research groups by performing a variety of cross-functional operational activities and overseeing multiple ongoing research projects. This will include project management and financial, communications, and other administrative activities. The focus will be on helping principal investigators (PIs) and assigned research groups meet project commitments, timelines, and deliverables. Responsibilities will include serving as the key communications contact with project sponsors and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of milestone reports and effective collaboration with the PI and their group members; executing--with minimal supervision--complex and independent oversight of several projects; extensive management of a broad range of administrative , ensuring the progression of project deliverables and effective administrative operations within the research groups while simultaneously providing expert coordination with external sponsors; and facilitating community building as required.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years’ administrative or project/program management experience; experience successfully organizing single or multiple projects; excellent organizational, time management, project management, interpersonal, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills; aptitude for analysis, working with data, organizing, and multitasking; good judgment, tact, and discretion with confidential information; proficiency with MS Office, familiarity with web site editing, and ability and willingness to learn new programs; and attention to detail. Seek a high-level contributor who is able to interact effectively across all levels, internally at MIT and externally with sponsors/partners; function both independently and as a team member; and take ownership for work, follow up on all action items, and deliver high-quality results meeting deadlines.
