STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT MANAGER, Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP)-MIT Community Innovators Lab (CoLab), to join the team conducting a comprehensive planning process for Wellness Empowerment for Brooklyn (WEB), a multiyear effort to improve community health and grow community wealth in Brooklyn neighborhoods.  Responsibilities include mapping and activating social networks that undergird WEB; building relationships with and consensus among key stakeholders, including community residents, elected officials, CBO leaders, healthcare leaders, civic leaders, cultural leaders, youth leaders and others; cultivating stakeholder and community support for WEB initiatives; organizing and facilitating workshops and other convenings of community stakeholders; conducting interviews and focus groups with community stakeholders to develop buy-in for the comprehensive planning process; working with key stakeholders to develop a participatory asset map of key Brooklyn neighborhoods and compile key neighborhood indicators to inform the asset mapping and planning process; providing technical assistance to community collaborators; data analysis; helping prepare a development study based on the results of the participatory asset map findings; and managing the student team assisting with the mapping and development study.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  degree in urban planning, public health or related field (master’s preferred); at least three years’ relevant experience; excellent project management, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; ability to develop rapport with colleagues from a range of backgrounds and experience levels; strong relational intelligence; experience working in neighborhoods to collect survey, interview, and focus group data; experience conducting participatory action research or similar methodologies; ability to generate creative reporting tools; experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis; and familiarity with mapping software.  Seek someone familiar with Brooklyn neighborhoods, organizations, institutions, and stakeholders. Job #17818-8
