Project Officer

Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Synthesis of new materials for batteries, supercapacitors or other electrochemical devices
• Lead the project direction in alkaline batteries
• Focus on new materials, electrode architecture, device for alkaline batteries
• Provide regular updates to industry partner
• Lab management and safety responsibilities
• Mentoring junior researchers and students
• Progress report presentation, progress report, proposal writing and demonstration

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science (Materials/Chemical/Mechanical/Nanotechnology/Physics/Chemistry) or equivalent
• Wide knowledge of different synthesis methodology for various materials
• Knowledge of batteries and/or electrochemistry
• Expertise in materials characterization techniques including XRD, SEM, TEM, spectroscopic techniques
• Knowledge of electrochemical studies, including such as galvanostatic, potentiostatic, impedance techniques
• Able to work with glove box
• Experience in fabrication of batteries and supercapacitors is an advantage
• An effective team player with good communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently without supervision
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
