The pharmacist at New Bolton Center will oversee all daily functions of the New Bolton Center pharmacy.

The pharmacist at New Bolton Center will oversee all daily functions of the New Bolton Center pharmacy.  These tasks will include performing all duties of a licensed pharmacist including being subject to audit and associated compliance regulations in the following areas:  dispensing medications within the hospital and to outside New Bolton Center clients, following all DEA regulatory requirements, and ensuring all internal controls are in place within the pharmacy area.  In addition, the pharmacist will seek to improve efficiency and financial outcomes within the department while decreasing medical errors, and support clinical service.

Manage daily pharmacy activities through direct supervision of the pharmacy technicians. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements that apply to a veterinary pharmacy. Ensure the pharmacy provides a high level of customer service to all internal and external clients in a professional and courteous manner, while adhering to all state and federal laws. Oversee the inventory management of medications with a focus on availability and financial accountability. Participate in clinical activities such as responding to drug information inquiries from clients. and clinicians. Improve pharmacy workflow, targeting fee capture and efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a doctoral program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
  • Must have an active license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Must have at least one year of management in a pharmacy setting.
  • Enforce compliance with all pharmacy policy and procedure including proper record keeping and reporting of controlled substances, and maintaining or improving pharmacy workflow.
  • Ensure the appropriate medication inventory is maintained while improving financial accountability.
  • Must have a working knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800 guidelines.
  • Closely monitor back-ordered medications and communicate information including alternative solutions when available to clinicians.
  • Serve as a resource to clinicians and students regarding medication information and drug interactions.
  • Seek out appropriate solutions and / or medications to meet the needs of requesting clinicians.
  • Maintains honesty, integrity, and high levels of efficiency and accuracy at all times
