At TU Dresden, Biotechnological Center (BIOTEC), an institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB) the Chair of Cellular Circuits and Systems (Prof. Dr. Henrik Bringmann) offers a position as

Research Associate

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible with 65% of the fulltime weekly hours to be filled until December 31, 2023. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).

Tasks: research with C. elegans animal models to investigate basic biological processes and molecular mechanisms; Investigation of the molecular mechanisms by which sleep enables survival after injury; application of molecular biology methods; Omics; quantitative microscopy; functional imaging and optogenetics; preparation and processing of own research results for publication in relevant publications as well as compilation of data, results and methods for publication in scientific journals and / or on the Internet for the project.

Requirements: university degree (MSc degree or equivalent) in molecular biology or a related discipline; excellent knowledge of English; high level of self-motivation; the ability to work independently, good organizational skills.
