We are hiring a Resource Technologist to support a new Penn Immune Health Initiative. The Resource Technologist is responsible for daily scientific training of the sample processing team which includes 2-4 technicians. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and completing QC action plans, implementing quality standards, identifying and resolving problems, responding to and acting on findings from both internal and external audits, and implementing change as needed. The candidate will formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate work towards these objectives with technical staff. The candidate is responsible for assisting in the preparation of technical/scientific data reports and managing QC documentation. QC monitoring requires high-level knowledge of immunology and immunological techniques, like flow cytometry.

Job Description

The candidate is also responsible for independently developing and implementing new methods for processing clinical samples and amending/writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This hire will cross-functionally collaborate with the processing unit manager, clinical research coordinators, and processing technicians to triage sample processing, ensure high quality biospecimens, and integrate downstream immunological assays as a part of Immune Health. In addition, this position will involve hands-on processing of human samples for a variety of clinical trials conducted throughout the Penn community, including trials on COVID-19.\

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
