Duties and Responsibilities:

A Research Assistant/PhD position is available in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University. Our laboratory is interested in understanding the biology of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and its associated diseases. This post specifically involves using a rabbit model to understand the relationship between EBV and the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis. The position is supported by a grant from the UAEU-Zayed Center for Health Sciences. The post is for a total of 4 years and registration to the CMHS PhD program is mandatory.

Minimum Qualification

The position is for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and hard-working individual with an MSc degree in a biomedical sciences, preferably with a major in microbiology. The successful candidate must meet the university requirements for registration to our PhD program (see UAEU, College of Graduate Studies website for details).

The successful candidate is expected to start in January/February 2021, with PhD registration to commence from academic year 2021.
