The successful candidate will be the leading member of the School Finance Office, supported by a Senior Finance Administrator and Finance Administrator, providing direct support to the Faculty Manager.

The Finance Manager will work towards delivering high quality financial support to academic department(s), staff and students as well as external stakeholders, collaborators, sponsors etc. They will work with colleagues in relevant central PSS Divisions, particularly the Finance Business Partner but also other colleagues in the University Finance Office, Procurement, Payroll, HR, Research and Innovation Services (RIS) etc. to ensure that staff, PSS colleagues and students in academic departments receive the necessary advice and guidance to ensure compliance with financial regulatory, policy and contractual obligations and have the relevant financial information to plan and deliver activities that will deliver the School's strategic objectives with respect to research and teaching.

The Finance Manager will manage professional service staff within the School's Finance Office, ensuring the provision of an efficient administrative service; supporting a wide range of teaching, learning and research activities; in support of all staff, students and external stakeholders as required; ensuring the end-user experience is at the forefront of delivery. Some of the activities will involve work of a highly confidential nature and so a professional work ethic is a pre-requisite.
