About the position

In collaboration with the Faculty Laboratory Manager (FLM) the appointee will be responsible for day to day management and operation of the Faculty research laboratory facilities across several Gold Coast sites. The role includes assisting with meeting compliance of Work Health and Safety and Biosafety requirements.

As a member of the Laboratory Services team the incumbent will be required to work with other team members on the common goal of providing quality laboratory facilities for teaching and research to the Faculty.

This position will be offered as a part time appointment at 0.6 FTE - 3 days per week (days are negotiable with the successful candidate).

About the person:

The successful candidate will have attained qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or have demonstrated experience in laboratory operations. They will have experience in operating and maintaining scientific equipment, as well as knowledge of current laboratory procedures (such as tissue culture). The successful applicant will be able to work independently as well as be part of the laboratory team. They will have highly developed organisational, communication and administrative skills. They will be able to work harmoniously in a team and contribute to team outcomes.

Previous experience within an educational research environment together with the relevant skills and experience will be highly regarded.

Remuneration for this appointment will commence at $40,274 (0.6 FTE pro-rata salary) plus 9.5% superannuation per annum.
