Job Description Summary

The person who fills this position will produce in vitro transcribed mRNA for vaccine and gene editing studies. They will quality check the mRNA produced by various methods. They will aid in the immunization of mouse or rabbit model systems, followed by obtaining specimens to analyze immune responses generated. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining cell lines in a cell culture lab. Methods they will use may include 17-color flow cytometry, ELISA assays, a variety of neutralization assays, and a variety of common molecular biology techniques (gel electrophoresis, Western-blot, PCR, etc.). They will work with multiple different post-docs and senior research investigators.

Job Description

DUTIES:

  1. Produce in vitro transcribed nucleoside-modified mRNA, QC 2 (30%) *
  2. General DNA, RNA and protein work (gel electrophoresis, Western-blot, PCR) (25%) *
  3. Cell culture work (10%)*
  4. Immunization of animals, participation in in vivo experiments (15%) *
  5. Data management and presentation (5%) *
  6. Flow cytometry, ELISA, neutralization assays (10%) *
  7. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (5%)

Bachelor's Degree and 1 - 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have some laboratory experience working with molecular biology techniques. Must be willing to work with small laboratory animals. Prior experience with tissue culture work is preferred.
