Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision from the Manager, Classroom Technology, with coordination from the Manager, Special Events & Scheduling, the audio/visual tech will provide multimedia services for classes, lectures, meetings, special events, and the A/V rental center in support of the research and academic missions of the Perelman School of Medicine & Health System. Work performed includes routine maintenance on multimedia equipment, troubleshooting multimedia equipment and computer problems; testing equipment prior to event. Report all non-functioning equipment to supervisor. Provide video production services anywhere from pre- production to post-production. Provide non-linear editing, DVD authoring with menus and creating digital files. Troubleshoot and use classroom presentation and / or production software technology. This position is considered “essential.”
Job Description
Associate's degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. College degree preferred.
Skills: Ability to operate, maintain, & troubleshoot multimedia production equipment, digital cameras &/or computer equipment; experience working with non-linear editing systems; ability to work under high levels of stress and pressure without loss of judgment; highly organized in work assignment & performance; ability to interface with people at all organizational levels; superior verbal communication skills required; overtime is a frequent requirement of this position. Must be willing & able to work overtime, often on short notice. Must be customer oriented. Ability to lift 50 pounds, move about actively, utilize tools requiring manual dexterity.
