Overview

The purpose of the Kurongkurl Katitjin Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research is to transform lives and enrich society through meaningful community engagement, innovative student support, high quality teaching, impactful research and cultural leadership.

The Centre is an integral part of the University providing a range of services that include:

  • High quality support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Teaching expertise across the University’s Courses both at the undergraduate and post graduate level
  • Research leadership within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander context
  • High-level advice and cultural leadership across the University
  • Support and leadership to the academic body with regard to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters.

The Role

Supporting the Manager, Kurongkurl Katitjin and the Pro Vice Chancellor (Equity and Indigenous), this role will work with University stakeholders to develop and deliver engagement outcomes, measurement instruments for engagement and report on engagement performance, with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and initiatives.

Without limiting the generality of this role, this role will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing integrated, purpose built, systematised means of recording, tracking and monitoring of all ECU’s prospective student engagement activities and communications with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander future students.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working in Higher Education sector or a related field with transferrable skills
  • Demonstrated ability in developing beneficial, sustainable partnerships and influencing others
  • High level analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with experience in problem solving and developing practical solutions
  • Strong leadership experience in managing projects and strategic thinking, aligned with organisational needs

The successful applicant will need to provide a current and up-to-date WA Working with Children clearance.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, 12 month fixed-term position, attracts remuneration of $90,220 to $101,090 pa (HEW 7) plus superannuation. Salary rates are effective as of the 8th January 2021.
