POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER POSITION IN CONSERVATION GEOGRAPHY

The Helsinki Lab of Interdisciplinary Conservation Science (https://www.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/helsinki-lab-of-interdisciplin...) at the Department of Geosciences and Geography at the Faculty of Science of the University of Helsinki, situated on the Kumpula Science Campus, is seeking applicants for a two-year fixed-term Postdoctoral Researcher position in Conservation Geography starting 1.1.2021 or earlier. A six-month trial period will be applied.

The postdoc will work on tasks related to performing spatial and spatio-temporal analyses focusing on the links between people and nature, by combining biodiversity and conservation knowledge, socio-economic and digital data. The successful applicant is expected to have strong statistical programming and analytical skills. An interdisciplinary background in conservation or sustainability science and knowledge of global conservation policies would be beneficial, but not mandatory. We hope the candidate appointed could start on the position as soon as possible.

The starting salary of the postdoctoral candidate will be ca. 3300–3700 euros/month, depending on the appointees’ qualifications and experience.
