Full-time, fixed term
This full-time fixed term lectureship is available immediately in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, which is part of the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences. The Department currently has over 40 academic staff working across the engineering field, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing and Energy.
The post of lecturer in Engines and Fuels will contribute to the UG and PGT programmes teaching, particularly the delivery of Engines and Powertrain Modules in Level 6 ( BEng) and Level 7 (MSc/MEng), and the laser based optical techniques for flow measurements in the Advanced Thermofluid Module in Level 7 (MSc/MEng).
The post holder will be a member of the Centre for Advanced Powertrain and Fuels which comprises several staff and about 15 postdoctoral and doctoral researchers. The post holder will support the Interim Dean of the College in the supervision of doctoral resarchers and managing the joint research projects with industries and EU.
About you
You will have:
- A PhD in engines and combustion engineering with experience in the laser based optical measurement techniques.
- Enthusiasm for delivering high quality UG/PGT programmes
- Evidence of research attainments
- Good presentation and communication skills
