Overview

The School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University (ECU) offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees.  Academics in the School are involved in research and teaching relating to a wide range of allied, public and occupational health disciplines.

ECU is currently seeking an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) for an ongoing position. This position offers excellent opportunities for an experienced AEP to further develop their academic career and to make a real difference supporting the clinical experience of students studying to become an AEP.

Requirements

In this position you will be a member of the Exercise and Sport Science academic team and will be responsible for the sourcing, arranging and management of clinical placements for ECU Exercise Physiology students, as well as coordinating and delivering practicum units at undergraduate level.

You will be expected to have the knowledge, skills and experience to be able to mentor and guide students through their practicum work and have a broad understanding of the scope of the Accredited Exercise Physiologist’s role.  You must also be accredited as an Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).

You will have teaching and/or clinical experience in Workplace/Vocational Rehabilitation and preferably also in one or more of the following ESSA AEP domains: Mental Health, Kidney and Neurological. You will teach into units in your specific areas of expertise.

This position is advertised as 80%-100% FTE - negotiable taking into account your breadth of experience in the ESSA AEP domains and your active clinical practice

We are looking for a great communicator who can build and maintain relationships with industry partners to source and secure placement opportunities for students in a range of areas. The successful person will also have the skills to work effectively with students and ECU’s Professional support staff. You must have extensive industry experience and knowledge of the Australian Health System.

Completion of or significant progress towards a relevant Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates holding a PhD may be appointed at Level B.

Benefits & Remuneration

This ongoing 80-100% FTE role will attract remuneration of $90,957 - $97,389 (Level A) or $102,253 to $120,814 (Lecturer ALEVB) paid on a pro-rata basis, plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
