NURSE PRACTICE SUPERVISORMIT Medical, to lead the development of medical assistants, reviewing their performance, and assigning work schedules. May also oversee registered nurses. Will deputize for the nurse practice manager (NPM) when the NPM is unavailable and at times serve as the authority for all direct reports within assigned service area; function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or nurse practitioner(s); provide comprehensive ambulatory nursing care, including patient and family assessment, intervention, and education; skillfully and consistently perform daily clinical duties per established policies and procedures;  work with service area key stakeholders to ensure that each patient’s experience is positive and that patient flow and appointment scheduling is completed accurately and efficiently; and oversee highly visible staff members who have extensive patient contact, both in-person and by telephone. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: BSN; licensure as a registered nurse in Massachusetts; BLS certification; at least three years’ experience in a nursing leadership role; demonstrated organizational, leadership, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to mentor and direct others.  

PREFERRED:  master’s in nursing; proven experience leading evidence-based clinical decision-making; experience in a hospital, health insurance, or a university health center pharmacy; ability to secure the cooperation of others in the pursuit of common objectives, set expectations, and help create a vision; ability to work collaboratively with clinical providers, nursing, and support staff; ability to address peers, supervisees and foster conflict resolution; strong working knowledge of department improvement assessment and tools; and ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines. Job #19088-9
