School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize a magnetic digital microfluidic platform for the diagnostics of drug resistant CRE
- Maintain bacteria culture and perform CRE detection on the prototype
- Work with contractor to develop a high-fidelity prototype
- Write publications, patents, protocols, reports, procedures and keep project record
- Manage procurement and inventory
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering or related field and a primary degree in biology or related field. Alternatively, the Research Fellow must have at least one degree (Ph.D. or primary degree) in biomedical engineering with relevant research experience in biosensing
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in:
- Magnetic digital microfluidics, 3D printing, microbiology and infectious diseases
- Medical device development
- Working with bacteria in BSL 2 labs
