Duties and responsibilities

  • Teaching courses on the first and second level of higher education studies as well as in in-service courses (including lectures, seminars and practicums) in the field of semiotics of culture and general semiotics using contemporary learning approaches and educational technologies, related methodological, administrative and development work.
  • Teaching development.
  • Supervising students' research and final work.
  • Professional development, incl. to enhance teaching and supervising skills.
  • Research in five years at least in the volume equivalent to that of 1/3 of a doctoral thesis.
  • Participation in research, development and creative activities of the structural unit under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.

Required qualifications

  • Master's degree or an equivalent qualification. See also requirements for teaching and research staff.

Required experience

  • Candidates are expected to have experience in teaching in the field of semiotics and culture studies (at least 3 years).
  • Experience in supervising students of the first and second level of higher education.
  • Ability to participate in research, development and creative activities.
  • Knowledge of modern study aids, learning environments, learning methods and their development opportunities.

Required language skills
Excellent command of Estonian. Command of English sufficient for teaching, professional communication and research.
