Location

Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will provide primary care and consultative geriatric assessment to patients 65 years of age and older with the goal of improving health and resiliency in a very vulnerable, geriatric population on the South Side of Chicago. This care occurs in the outpatient, inpatient and post-acute care settings, and can include home visits and management of home health services as well. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with an interest in post-acute care management or palliative medicine. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The Section of Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine has robust research and education programs that build on collaborations both within the University and also throughout the South Side of Chicago with post-acute care sites, hospice providers and home health agencies.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Geriatric Medicine.

To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago’s Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: https://apply.interfolio.com/78567. Applicants must upload: CV including bibliography, cover letter. Review of applications ends when the position is filled.
