PLANT ENGINEER, CENTRAL UTILITIES PLANT, Facilities-Utilities, to be responsible for plant engineering, operations, and maintenance support and for project management in the Facilities’ Central Utilities Plant (CUP). Will serve as a resource for plant personnel; assist in the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the facility; support facilities’ EHS engineer as needed; serve as project liaison for future and ongoing projects, specifically cogeneration plant expansion, accelerated capital renewal, and major repair operations; keep site engineering drawings and documentation up-to-date; maintain CUP policies and procedures; determine schedule, agenda, and program for annual testing and tabletop exercises; serve as contact for plant-specific IT systems; and develop and maintain a master plan for future equipment replacement and capacity increases.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: B.S. degree in an engineering discipline; three years’ experience in plant and/or mechanical design in a CHP or power generation facility; working knowledge of plant engineering processes; and strong analytical, time-management, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to establish effective working relationships within and between work groups; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; foster a positive work environment and lead a group of engineers and other staff in a team-centered organization; and represent the department in the overall MIT community.
