PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, URGENT CAREMIT Medical, to be responsible for patient flow and appointment scheduling in a highly visible position that involves extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone. Typical duties will include staffing the front desk (e.g., check in, collecting co-pays, obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information, etc.) and general administrative duties (e.g., answering telephone calls, data entry, insurance reviews, filing, etc.); scheduling patient encounters (appointments) and procedures, coordinating with and across providers, service areas, and institutions; collaborating and communicating with referral providers and practices to facilitate management of complex patient issues; and providing  effective customer service that supports departmental operations. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or GED; two years of related customer service or administrative experience, preferably in a busy medical practice setting; diplomacy; and strong customer service, organizational and follow through skills.  Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with accuracy; perform multiple tasks simultaneously; work independently or within a team environment; interact effectively--over the telephone and in person-- with diverse internal and external constituencies, including patients, clinicians, and other professional staff. 

PREFERRED: associate’s degree or higher in communications, business, or other relevant field; insurance verification experience; knowledge of medical terminology, pre-admission and pretesting requirements, insurance regulations and form completion, deductibles/co-pays, and billing systems; ability to be trained in CPT and ICD10 coding; and self-motivation and ability to work independently upon training completion. Job #19081-4 

The schedule for the position is  Wednesday through Friday, 9:30 A.M. to 7:00 A.M.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
