The Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity is a growing department heavily invested in cutting-edge research and the training of postgraduate students in the fields of oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral medicine, and periodontology.

The Division of Periodontology in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty member, with a strong emphasis on clinical education and innovation. Appointment is expected to be at the instructor or assistant professor level, depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant. Applicants should have a strong record and future promise in teaching and scholarship in Periodontics and be able to join a vibrant program, recognized nationally and internationally for educating leaders in patient care, research and service. Responsibilities will include clinical and didactic teaching in both predoctoral and advanced graduate education programs; participation in ongoing national and international continuing education programs; scholarly activities; and service to the university and community. Patient care opportunities will be available Applicants may also be considered for the administrative position of director of predoctoral periodontology.

Basic Qualifications    
The successful candidate must hold a dental degree (DMD or DDS), have a Certificate and Board Certification in Periodontology approved by the American Academy of Periodontology, and hold or be eligible for a Massachusetts dental license.

Additional Qualifications    
Experience with and in-depth knowledge of IV sedation and digital dentistry, as well as familiarity with the conduct of clinical research are preferred.
