Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing (Education)
As a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing (Education), you will be on the Academic Education Pathway (AEP), and expected to contribute to field specific and generic modules. You will have responsibility along with other colleagues for teaching, student support, practice learning, and contributing to the new curriculum for the BSc (Hons) and MSc in Mental Health Nursing. You will also be expected to accept Faculty academic citizenship roles. The role will have an 80% education focus.

Clinical credibility and a willingness to develop and deliver high quality simulated practice will be expected.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals who have experience in working in one or more of the following areas: dementia care/care of older people, learning disability, community care, and/or secure mental health care. A track record of publication and contribution to education research would be advantageous although these can be developed within the probationary period.
As a Registered Nurse - Mental Health you will be a passionate advocate for optimising mental health, have a keen interest in developments in the field, and be committed to enthusing the next generation of mental health nurses.

This is a full-time post.
- Working in collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders, institutions and organisations
- Involvement in the planning and development of the nursing programmes and modules
- Lecture planning, preparation and scholarship
- Contact and teaching time with students across undergraduate and postgraduate
- Assessment and feedback of students' work
- Personal tutor, Link Lecturer and Academic Assessor

Skills, knowledge, and experience
- Holds a masters level degree or above
- Current Registration with NMC as a Mental Health Nurse
- Experience of teaching UG/PGT students in an education setting within NHS Trust and/or University environment
- Experience of involvement in service improvement or educational enhancement
- A flexible, enthusiastic self-starter able to engage actively with team members, the wider King's community and other potential collaborators in developing programmes of teaching and education
- Has a vision for the educational preparation of the next generation of nurses
- Developing scholarly activity profile including publications, conference presentations and/or applicant on funding to support educational enhancement
- Committed to complete a teaching qualification during probationary period (if not already obtained)
- PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification
- Second NMC Registration as an Adult Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse
- Experience of inter professional education
- Experience of university governance and academic administration
- Experience of digital learning
- Has a professional teaching qualification/mentorship.
