At the TU Dresden, Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Technology the Process Systems Engineering Group (leaded by Prof. Urbas, Chair of Process Control Systems) offers a position as

Research Associate

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position is limited until December 31, 2021. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertrags­gesetz-WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.

Tasks:
The focus of your task is the functional extension of our process orchestration level software component for modular plants, which consists of a frontend and a backend. The backend organizes the control of the modules via OPC UA and provides functions via websockets for the frontend, while the frontend provides the user interface. The research results will be coordinated with the project partners from industry and science and will be published at international conferences and in recognised journals.

Requirements:
above average university degree in the field of computer science, information systems engineering, electrical engineering, process informatics or related fields. You should have an enthusiasm for new challenges. This requires solid knowledge of describing information models, as well as good programming skills in TypeScript, node.js, angular. An independent, goal- and solution-oriented way of working and inter- and multidisciplinary thinking as well as a confident command of the English and German language, both spoken and written. You enjoy new challenges and want to actively influence the trends in the automation industry for the next years and decades? Are you a creative mind for whom there are no limits?
