OVERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL OF NURSING, MIDWIFERY AND PARAMEDICINE

The School provides excellence in teaching and research across the disciplines of nursing, midwifery and paramedic science. With a strong emphasis on inter-professional learning and engagement with health agencies, students have opportunities to work closely with health services and health professionals to develop professional attributes and skills during their coursework that enable them to be job ready. The region’s health services have rapidly expanded to now include the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The School aims to maximise interdisciplinary research collaboration and engage in research focused on delivering health outcomes to the local, national and international community and make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

PROFILE

USC is seeking to appoint an experienced academic who will contribute nursing expertise to the interdisciplinary academic team of the School. The Lecturer will be expected to contribute to the outstanding teaching and learning outcomes of the School and will bring recent experience and knowledge of contemporary nursing practice to the role. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate commitment and passion for engaging students and will facilitate education programs that aim to prepare our students for graduate practice. This appointment has an important and active role in teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs as well as being expected to demonstrate research performance in line with the University for a Level B.
