We are seeking appoint a Professor to spearhead the development of our International Human Resource Management and Development research and teaching. Our current undergraduate portfolio includes a new BA Business and HRM programme and we have two current PGT offers, a part-time MA Human Resource Management and Development programme and MSc Business with HRM programme. Our aspiration is to develop new internationally attractive PGT programmes in the areas of HRM and HRD to run at our home campus in Newcastle, our London and Amsterdam campuses and potentially with our overseas partners in the middle east and southeast Asia. Our research activity covers a wide range of areas principally in Public Policy and Public Management, Business Ethics and in Leadership and Organisational Change organised within a number of research interest groups including “Risk, Responsibility Ethics and Governance”, “Global Entrepreneurial Talent Management” and “Public Policy and Public Management (3PM)”. You will assist us in developing a vibrant research group in the area International Human Resource Management and Development building on the expertise of our current Associate Professor’s and Senior Lecturers working in this area.

Working within our Department of Leadership & HRM, part of the award-winning Newcastle Business School, you will join a team of more than 60 academic staff, including 7 full-time professors dedicated to advancing the field of leadership and human resource management. You will possess an outstanding record of publications in high quality academic journals and a sustained record of research funding success. You will continue to undertake research and scholarly activities contributing to the Faculty’s research profile and development of its next REF submission, together with contributing to consultancy, enterprise, and other income generation and business development activities.

You must have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to teach effectively on a range of programmes using a variety of approaches to student learning. You will also demonstrate multicultural competence, including awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work in meaningful, relevant and productive ways with others who are culturally different from you.
