The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Melbourne is home to the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. About the role

The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) seeks to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Tutor in Art. VCA Art has a significant national reputation and has long established a dynamic presence as forward-looking with a clear mission to prepare artists with a lifelong commitment as professional practitioners who will be positive contributors to the profession and the broader community.

The appointee will be active and well-respected artist with expertise in teaching and the ability to work within small teams to shape and build the teaching and learning within VCA Art, specifically the Painting Program. The appointees will be involved in course development, design and the delivery and maintenance of high-quality undergraduate teaching programs.

About you 

You will have a demonstrated established and active artistic practice and ongoing engagement with contemporary art, hold a Bachelor / Masters of Fine Arts and have an understanding of the research environment in the field. Significant teaching experience in a tertiary Art School context and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required.


Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
