The Department of Political Economy (DPE) is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of public policy and administration, for a period of 20 months, starting on 1 March 2021 (1.0 FTE). The successful candidate will collaborate with Dr Christel Koop on the NORFACE-funded research project “Reconnecting Citizens to the Administrative State (ReConnect). The overall project is conducted in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the University of Leiden (Netherlands), IBEI (Spain), and the BI School of Management (Norway). The consortium analyses the changing demands on the contemporary administrative state, and the responses of the administrative state to these demands (procedural and substantive). The DPE-based research focuses primarily on the regulatory state. The successful candidate will be centrally involved in all aspects of the research, including research design, data collection and analysis, production of the research output, and international coordination and collaboration.
- Conduct collaborative mixed-methods research on the changing demands on the administrative state, and the responses of the administrative state to these demands, with a particular focus on the regulatory state.
- Carry out fieldwork in the UK and coordinate on the collection of data with the other members of the consortium.
- Disseminate the co-authored research output in high-ranking international peer-reviewed journals and among practitioners.
