To improve the way we work and deliver sustained savings, QUT is seeking to realign its organisational structure. This has led to a formal proposal to change the University’s Faculty structure to create a new Faculty of Business and Law. This is currently subject to a consultation process under the University’s Enterprise Agreements. The creation of the new role of Executive Dean, Faculty of Business and Law forms part of this consultation.

The Faculty of Business and Law will promote integration and collaboration in teaching and research, providing a sustainable foundation upon which to build areas of strength. The Faculty will comprise of the QUT Business School and School of Law which have both independently built strong national and international reputations for excellence and impact across their portfolio of activities, notable with the Business School holding the triple crown of international accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA,). Leveraging this foundation the Faculty of Busines and Law will be well placed to make a significant impact globally capitalising on its size and building on its quality research and innovative education.
QUT is seeking an exceptional leader for the position of Executive Dean, Faculty of Business and Law. The Executive Dean is responsible for the active leadership and integration of activities across the faculty’s schools, and for encouraging and promoting a sense of unity, cooperation and common purpose amongst the faculty’s staff. A focus on innovation will be expected combined with a strong academic background.
The Executive Dean is a member of the Executive Management Team and reports to the Provost. As well as having an important internal role within the university, the appointee will be committed to pursuing QUT’s linkages with the relevant professional groups and industry.
