The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is looking to appoint an outstanding individual to a

Junior Professorship in Slavonic Cultural Studies (special emphasis on South Slavonic Studies)

(W1 salary, no tenure track)

within the Faculty of Philosophy II, Department of Slavonic Studies. The position will commence preferably at the earliest possible date.

The professorship represents the field of "Slavonic cultural studies" in research and teaching, in particular in South Slavonic studies and if possible in Polish cultural studies or Russian cultural studies. Additional experience in South Slavonic linguistics or South Slavonic literature is requested.

The successful candidate is expected to participate in current research projects of the Department of Slavonic studies, to cooperate closely with other disciplines of the faculty in research and teaching and to actively take part in furthering the interdisciplinary orientation of the faculty. The candidate should have experience in acquiring funding for research as well as in collaborating with academic partners and practitioners.

Further duties and responsibilities are stipulated in section 34 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities.

Applicants need to fulfil the pre-conditions of appointment as stipulated in section 40 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities. A doctoral degree and additional academic achievements relevant to the field as well as proof of pedagogical qualification are prerequisites.
