Hours: 36 hours a week (1 FTE)  
Term: Permanent
Starting Salary: £39,152 per annum                                             
Annual Leave: 35 days per annum as well as Bank Holidays and University Closure Days

St Mary’s University are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Drama to work with our team in supporting the performance work across the Drama programmes.  

Drama St Mary's aims to prepare its graduates for the rigour of the Theatre profession. Our undergraduate programmes currently offer students the opportunity to train as actors through our specialised BA Acting degree.  

We are seeking a world class Acting Tutor with extensive experience of conservatoire actor training to teach across our undergraduate and post-graduate Drama programmes and to contribute to their on-going development and management in a blended learning context. They will have extensive links and networks within the theatre industry and, amongst other duties, prepare students for our annual graduate showcase. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and tutor with a real understanding of student-centered learning as well as specialist knowledge in a combination of the following areas:  

  • Acting for Stage, TV, Film and Radio.
  • Theatre Direction. -  Digital Performance.
  • Devising.
  • Movement and Voice.
  • Employment in the Theatre, TV and Film industries.
