Do you have extensive knowledge of providing advice and guidance? Are you an expert in managing complaints and appeal procedures whilst considering the QAA Quality Code and guidance issued by the Office of the Independent Adjudicator? Then join the University of East London as a Complaints and Appeals Managing Officer and you could soon be operating at management level within the higher education business sector.

The University of East London has an exciting opportunity for a vigilant Complaints and Appeals Managing Officer to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited for an individual who is confident in providing resolutions and leading a team. 

Based within the Governance, Legal Services and Compliance service, you will work closely with the Deputy University Secretary, students, staff and relevant external organisations. You will also be responsible for providing training and guidance on the use of new template documents to staff concerning quality assurance systems and procedures relating to both taught and research degree programmes.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a UK higher education institution, with a demonstratable understanding of the needs of students. You will have the ability to understand the dispute resolution process, including complaints and appeals, as they apply in higher education. You will also have experience in identifying and proposing solutions to new issues whilst delivering a high standard of service and providing customers with a positive experience with attention to detail and accuracy. It is also paramount that the ideal candidate can establish productive working relationships with a wide range of people to strengthen working relationships and systems.
