The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering invites application for the position of Research Fellow. The Research Fellow will work on a A*STAR IAF PP project to conduct the research on development of modeling, simulation, analysis and control techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Development of data-driven traffic models, including network dynamic models, public transportation models and vehicle platooning models.  
  • Development of data-driven network parameter estimation techniques.
  • Development of real-time closed-loop traffic signal control strategies.
  • Development of public bus management methods.
  • Development of vehicle platoon control methods.
  • Development of emergency handling techniques.  

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science/Engineering on data analytics, systems and control, operations research, applied mathematics specialized in optimization
  • 1-year research experience in related area
  • Expertise in traffic modeling, simulation, analysis or control
  • Knowledge in basic simulation tools and optimization tools
  • Publication track record is good.
  • Proficiency in English

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
