Job Description Summary

Responsible for the overall financial management of $7-$10 million in grant funding as well as management of Institute Funding and Service Centers/Shared Services, as well as other financial matters of the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology in the Perelman School of Medicine.

This position reports to the Director of Fiscal Operations within the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology and has a dotted reporting line to PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Job Description

Manage post award activities including account set up, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and meet with Principal Investigators to discuss and advice on any financial issues related to their portfolio. Will actively participate in specific projects and will be greatly involved in a more complicated grants including training grants and program project with multiple sub-contracts. Will manage the financial activities of the Epigenetics Institute and/or the Institute for Regenerative Medicine, as well as manage multiple service centers. Will provide backup support for proposal development, budget development and related pre-award activities for diverse sponsor portfolio. Supervises Financial Administrative Staff, assign and oversee work activities, evaluate performance, participate in decision-making related to potential hires, salary increases and terminations. Position contingent upon continued funding.

Qualifications

 Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
