School of Materials Science and Engineering is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Fellow will play a crucial role in processing, characterization, property evaluation and application of new materials for thermoelectric devices. The candidate will be in-charge of growing single crystal for new materials of thermoelectrics.

Requirements:

  • PhD in solid state chemistry/ Materials Science
  • Strong background in Materials Engineering
  • Experience with thermoelectric materials, hot pressing, thermoelectric material testing and module preparation
  • Good experience on solid state chemistry materials synthesis, single crystal growth
  • Synchrotron x-ray data analysis
  • Thermoelectric modulus fabrication
  • Good command of oral and written English.
  • Experience in handling ball milling, vacuum sealing system, ZEM-3, laser flash etc

About Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
