An exciting opportunity exists for a committed clinical academic to join our Dentistry team responsible for producing highly sought after & work-ready graduates to practice in metropolitan, rural & regional community settings.

The Charles Sturt University Dentistry program is fully accredited with the Australian Dental Council & the School has been commended for the collegiality of its staff & the work-readiness of its graduates to enter practice. The Schools teaching & clinical facility offers state-of-the art clinical spaces, a simulation clinic, dental technology laboratory & anatomy laboratory.

The successful candidate for this position will be a clinical academic with extensive undergraduate teaching experience in restorative dentistry & simulation clinics, & have demonstrated experience in providing high quality clinical dental care in private or public health dental practice settings.

Your principal teaching duties involve both didactic & clinical responsibilities within a range of relevant subjects & to lead the thematic integration of pre-clinical & clinical restorative dentistry. The appointee will provide academic leadership within the discipline & contribute significantly to its administration & ongoing curriculum development, while progressing an active research profile with a strategic research and innovation focus aligned to the overall strategies of the University.

As the School of Dentistry & Health Sciences is a multi-campus & multi-disciplinary academic unit, the incumbent will be expected to engage in the academic life of the School.

To be successful you will have:

  • A qualification relevant to the discipline & appropriate to the level for which you are applying
  • Eligibility for full or limited registration as a dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), which may refer to a primary dental qualification obtained from Australia, Britain, Canada or New Zealand or an Australian Dental Council (ADC) Certificate
  • A record of academic achievement of national (Level C) &/or international standing (Level D) through outstanding contributions to academic leadership and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning, research in an area relevant to restorative dentistry, or other professional activity
  • Relevant clinical experience in Australia, Britain, Canada or New Zealand
  • Evidence of the delivery of high quality student centred learning & teaching in restorative dentistry
  • A record of research activity relevant to the discipline & the level applied for
